THE BEACH HUT - THORPE BAY, ESSEX

Most of our supporters are aware of the charity's connection with the Beach Hut Appeal run by Janet Bristow and Sheila Handley.   Our first project was to help get the hut 'up and running'.  The girls do a marvellous job by enabling many handicapped and terminally ill children and adults enjoy a day by the sea.

It is well situated close to all the amenities and the sea is just some 20 yards away - there is a slipway which will aid wheelchairs to gain access..   The Heart of Darts maintains its support and we have paid for new flooring, high security locks and we boast a team of skilled and dedicated workers from TRADEMASTERS in South East London who have pledged to undertake roofing and decorating when required.   

 Anyone who needs a break can make contact on 01268 479216.  The beach hut is situated just outside Southend-on-Sea, Essex and is providing a much needed service.   The charity have donated a brand new wheelchair to make life a little easier for anyone who needs it.

The rear of the hut is grassed and there are excellent facilities nearby for food, toilets and water.   There is also easy parking with bays to the front of the hut and parking areas to the rear.
